JOB TITLE:
Student Technician, Center for Student Involvement & Leadership
JOB PURPOSE:
Provide essential technical support for union events and activities. This position requires the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also demonstrating initiative and the capability to work independently under limited supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Setup, Operate, and Strike Event Technologies: Assist in the setup, operation, and dismantling of audio, video, lighting, and other event technologies according to event requirements.
Quickly Troubleshoot Technical Issues: Identify and resolve technical issues that may arise during events to ensure smooth operations and minimal disruption.
Provide Excellent and Timely Customer Service: Interact professionally with event organizers and attendees, addressing technical needs promptly and effectively.
Collaborate with Team: Work closely with the Student Technical Services team to coordinate tasks, equipment setup, and event logistics.
COMPETENCIES:
Ability to Learn: Willingness and capability to acquire new skills and knowledge related to event technology and technical support.
Analysis/Problem Identification: Skill in identifying issues and determining effective solutions in a timely manner.
Quality Orientation: Commitment to delivering high-quality service and ensuring equipment operates effectively.

UW Student
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work in a customer-facing role
Willingness to learn and apply new skills
Ability to work productively in teams
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A background working with lights and sound.
