Position: AG Animal Science Teacher Aquilla ISD is seeking a dynamic and student-focused AG Animal Science Teacher to join our Agricultural Science program and FFA chapter.
The successful candidate will guide students in developing skills in animal science, leadership, and career readiness while supporting district-wide FFA activities and events.
Responsibilities Provide engaging instruction in Animal Science and related courses within the Agricultural Science curriculum.
Prepare students for leadership roles and competitions through FFA participation, including livestock shows, Career Development Events (CDEs), and Leadership Development Events (LDEs). Collaborate with the Ag Mechanics teacher and other staff to support a comprehensive Agricultural Science program.
Supervise and assist students with supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs). Support student involvement in fairs, shows, conventions, and competitions outside of school hours.
Maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with district and state requirements, and communicate effectively with parents and community stakeholders.
Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment that supports diverse learners.
Qualifications Valid Texas Teaching Certificate in Agricultural Science and Technology (or eligibility to obtain). Strong background in animal science instruction and FFA leadership.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents, and community.
Willingness to supervise before- and after-school student activities and travel as needed.
Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) Aquilla ISD participates in the Texas Teacher Incentive Allotment program.
All teaching positions are eligible for additional compensation beyond base salary based on performance, classroom observation, and student growth outcomes.
