Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree Preferred Experience implementing behavioral, social, and emotional strategies/skills w/ students Fingerprints and CORI required Teaching certificate preferred Key Competencies: Strong technology skills.
Ability to build working relationships with students to help them organize materials and complete assignments.
Dynamic person who responds to student needs positively.
Implements behavior management programs designed by teachers and/or school psychologist/counselors.
Counts and records specific student behaviors; administers procedures in the positive behavior support plan.
Assists students in special education and general education classes.
Assists in preparation of materials for class, classroom activities, and assignments.
Monitors students during assigned periods for the purpose of maintaining a safe and positive learning environment and providing academic support.
Serves as a source of information and help to any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of the regular teacher.
Reports student concerns directly and expeditiously to teachers and assists with student resolution.
Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected in the classroom teachers.
Meets regularly with classroom teachers to plan around curriculum and student needs.
