* Demonstrated training and/or experience appropriate for the assignment.
* Experience working with middle school-aged children.
* Ability to plan and prepare units of study, lessons, and activities with clear learning objectives that reflect current standards and district curricula.
* Ability to create an environment of respect and rapport that supports learning and a sense of physical and emotional safety.
* Ability to organize and manage classroom instruction and procedures, as well as maintain accurate records.
* Ability to communicate positively, clearly, and accurately with students.
* Understand and appreciate working with diverse populations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Effectively deliver instruction and assess, document and report student progress.
* Demonstrates personal responsibility and professionalism.
* Develop a communication program with families through conferences and other vehicles to discuss student progress and interpret the school program.
* Participate in ongoing professional development.
* Other duties as assigned.
