Prepare for and deliver instruction while supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, being aware of and responding to student needs, and managing effective instructional activities.

Assist with curriculum development and program evaluation to maintain the course effectiveness.

Responsible for maintaining classroom and laboratory areas, including upkeep of assigned equipment.

Supervise and routinely assess student performance and advise students in matters related to their programs of study.

Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.
6.
Exhibit a high degree of skill and attention to detail.
7.
Assume responsibilities for teaching not only skills and knowledge, but also: good citizenship, respect for the rights of others, and the proper attitude toward the college, both inside and outside of the classroom.

Collaborate with the advisory committee in the program area.

Attend departmental and institutional meetings.

Abide by all Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College policies and procedures.

Promote the education/training program and regularly participate in efforts to recruit and retain students.

Maintain all documentation for training as required by AccelerateMS guidelines, and MGCCC policies and procedures, and other governmental agencies and organizations.

Maintain certifications, continue professional development and stay current and up to date in program of study/field.

Perform duties independently and exercise a high degree of autonomy.

Classification Title Position Number 7PR619 Rank Instructor Job Description The incumbent is responsible for preparing and teaching a full range of structural fitting techniques, blueprint reading, layout, fabrication, and fitting, to non-credit welding students/trainees as needed.
The incumbent will report to a Workforce Project Director.
Mandatory Qualifications (M1) Minimum three years full-time structural fitting experience.
(M2) Have demonstrated competencies in blueprint reading, structural layout, fabrication and installation of ship components.
(M3) Proficient with equipment and capable of operation and maintenance of all ship fitting lab equipment.
(M4) Demeanor, training, and skills necessary to provide effective instruction to a diverse group of individuals with varying degrees of previous experience.
(M5) Proficient with computer and communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications (D1) Relevant Associate's degree in technical education or related field.
(D2) Experience working at a community college.
