General Role and Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Automotive Services / Industrial Maintenance Technician Instructors and ACC Leadership, the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Paraprofessional will assist in delivering instruction relevant to NLPS Supply Chain & Transportation and Advanced Manufacturing - CTE Programs of study and support student supervision at the Area Career Center.
The paraprofessional will be needed to work directly with all students and collaborate with staff members.
Additionally, the paraprofessional will be held accountable for the specific responsibilities below.
General Skills and Qualifications: * Ability to be flexible and adapt to changes in the work environment.
* Ability to independently support a routine for periods of time in the presence and/or absence of the instructor.
* Must pass Indiana praxis paraprofessional test, have associate degree, or 60 plus college credits.
Specific Responsibilities in This Position: * Supervise students in lab environment to assure their safety and avoid damage to school equipment.
* Serve as guide in instructing students on proper classroom/ lab behavior.
* Help keep records for grading and attendance.
* Ensure readiness and availability in materials and equipment ready to help prepare for class.
* Reinforce lessons by reviewing one-on-one and in groups of students.
* Assist students who need additional help learning a specific concept.
* Be able to run the class in the teacher's absence.
* Transport students in SCH approved transportation vehicles to various locations, as needed.
* Execution and monitoring of all incoming and outgoing work and services such as work based learning, school-based enterprise, etc.
* Other tasks as prescribed by the instructor and/or building principal.
Specific Skills and Knowledge for this position: * Basic automotive and industrial tools and equipment knowledge.
Qualifications and Education Requirements: * Experienced motor vehicles/industrial components and their repair.
* Knowledge of basic skills and equipment used in motor vehicle and industrial repair.
* Willingness to take part in training opportunities relevant to technology available in the Automotive Services and Industrial Maintenance Technician classroom & lab.
