Assistant or Associate Professor of Anatomic Pathology
Job Summary
This is a position that will advance the mission of the College and the University through research, teaching, and service. The faculty member will be joining a team of 4 anatomic pathologists and 3 clinical pathologists and will be responsible for joint classroom instruction within the veterinary curriculum. participation in diagnostic necropsy and biopsy services, training of the anatomic pathology intern and committee service engagement within the college and the university. Collaborative and/or independent research is expected.
Essential Job Duties
Participate in classroom, clinical and laboratory instruction.
Participate in the provision of anatomic pathology laboratory services to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital and external clients.
Train interns, technicians and students as required.
Demonstrate creative scholarship through independent and/or collaborative research and publish the results of research findings in reputable scientific and/or professional journals.
Submit research and/or contract proposals to intramural and/or extramural funding sources.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
DVM or equivalent degree
Board certification by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists is highly desired. Board-eligible applicants will be considered.
PhD degree is highly desirable.
