PURPOSE OF JOB:
Under the direction of the Director of Respiratory Care, provides rehabilitative services for patients experiencing respiratory compromise. Designs, provides and supervises physical and didactic activities to aid patients in the process of living with limited lung function due to pulmonary disease.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Utilizes knowledge and critical thinking skills to safely assess and care for patients, with consideration
for age-specific accommodations.
2. Collaborates with patients to identify goals.
3. Instructs and supervises patients to insure safety during exercise sessions.
4. Provides patient education on various topics related to health and self care of the pulmonary patient.
5. Accurately records and maintains patient related documentation.
Supports emotional and social aspects of pulmonary disease, striving to help patients develop a positive attitude toward their disease and lifestyle.
Job Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduate of a CoARC approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Licensed by the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Satisfactory completion of appropriate continuing
education specific to job requirements and Pennsylvania state requirements.
Certified in Basic Life Support and current ACLS certification.
Experience: Previous Pulmonary Rehabilitation experience preferred.
Other Skills: Computer and typing. Excellent interpersonal skills
