Bericap is a privately held family-owned company founded in 1926 and is one of the leading
manufacturers of plastic closures for food, beverage and industrial markets. As a result of continued growth Bericap SC, LLC has a full-time, hourly opening for a Vision Systems Specialist reporting to the Quality Manager.
The Vision Systems Specialist is responsible for optimal performance of the vision systems to identify defects, reduce scrap and provide feedback to production and quality department for upstream issues.
Key Responsibilities:
General
• Ensure that all work undertaken is carried out safely and without injury
• Ensures Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are always followed (no jewelry, cell phone, nicotine in any form, etc.)
• Ensure all quality, food safety, safety, environmental as well as all other Company policies and procedures are followed
• Ensure that all quality, food safety, safety, and environmental issues are reported to the appropriate manager or supervisor
• Housekeeping duties performed throughout the shift
• Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted and while standing/walking for duration of shift
• Develop, implement and support Continuous Improvement Programs
• Initiates corrective action for non-conformances
• Identify Opportunities for Improvement and enter into See It, Sort It, Report It system
• Duties as assigned per Quality Manager
• Able and willing to wear appropriate PPE as required
• Occasional international travel will be required
• Must be willing to walk and stand during the entire 12 hour shift.
Vision Specialist Functions
• Lead implementation and maintenance of Vision Portal System
• Ensure vision and related systems are calibrated, optimized and monitored
• Ensure vision system settings are aligned with the quality department's requirements and participate in root cause analysis of any issues.
• Oversee and approve changes to camera settings
• Review process performance utilizing process, vision and scrap reports. Work with process team to identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste and optimize process settings
• Work with Global network of camera/vision system leaders to understand latest technologies, standards and best practices
• Lead training for new technologies related to vision systems, assembly and processing as required
• Maintain and coordinate vision systems preventative maintenance schedule
