Responsibilities:
The Med/Surg Director of Nursing oversees nursing operations within medical and surgical unit, ensuring high-quality patient care, managing budgets, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals. This role involves strategic planning, policy implementation, staff development, and maintaining compliance with regulations. The director also fosters a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Manages daily activities, staffing, and overall function of the medical-surgical unit(s).
Ensures high-quality, patient-centered care, adhering to established standards and promoting evidence-based practices.
Participates in developing and implementing short and long-range plans to achieve facility objectives.
Responsible for hiring, training, evaluating, and managing nursing staff, including performance management.
Develops, implements, and updates policies and procedures to ensure safe and effective nursing practice.
Utilizes data and benchmarks to monitor quality, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance patient care.
Ensures adherence to all relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines.
Works with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, to coordinate patient care and resolve issues.
Provides mentorship and support for nursing staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
Qualifications:
Active Kentucky Registered Nurse Licensure
BLS and ACLS Certification
Bachelor's Degree or higher in nursing preferred.
Supervisory management experience required.
