Overview This position will staff primarily in the NT IV center (will be cross trained in other areas) and includes a rotating weekend commitment along with a staffing on-call commitment, disaster team assignment, and night shift pull list assignment.

This is not a 7 on/7 off position.

The pharmacist will work an average of 60 hours per pay period.

To provide distributive and clinical services surrounding the preparation, delivery, and administration of medications to inpatients of Shands Hospital.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: A.

Education: Graduation from an accredited school or college of pharmacy.

B.

Experience and Training: 1.

Previous experience in contemporary hospital pharmacy practice is highly desirable.

2.

Strong communication skills.

3.

Ability to positively interact with professional and support personnel in the health science center.

4.

Pharm.D.

degree and/or completion of ASHP residency is highly preferred.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Registered pharmacist in the state of Florida or eligible for same.

Additional Requirement: As a condition of employment within the Pharmacy Services Department of Shands Hospital all employees must be accessible by telephone.

This requires each employee to provide a telephone number to the department Staff Assistant, in order for the department to reach them in the event of hospital need and/or emergency.
