Instrumentation Commissioning Technician

Instrumentation Commissioning Technician (Wharton NJ) Anax Power and Longo Electrical-Mechanical have developed the world's first natural gas turboexpander specifically designed for pipelines.

This unique role pairs mission-critical engineering work for Longo's core customers (wastewater plants, power plants, and more) with innovative field work to commission the 500kW Anax Turboexpander (ATE-500). It offers the exciting growth potential of a clean-energy startup built on a foundation of a 75 year old electrical-mechanical service company.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The role falls under general supervision of the Senior Controls Engineer and includes guidance from the Lead Instrumentation Technician.

It includes the installation, testing, repair, inspection and maintenance of industrial instrumentation such as metering and recording instruments, controlling devices, data logging and display equipment, communications equipment, and telemetry systems.

Install, maintain, troubleshoot, document, and repair a wide variety of industrial instrumentation, systems, and controls.

Provide maintenance support for the uninterrupted operation of essential instrumentation, controls, and electrical equipment.

Work with electricians and process control operators to assist and diagnose various instrumentation and control processes.

We seek candidates with the following qualifications: The successful candidate must have at least 5 years' experience working with PLC, SCADA, OIT, Radio Telemetry Systems, OPC, SQL, Microsoft Operating Systems, and Networking.

Along with the ability to be available for off hours work, the successful candidate must work safely in confined spaces, hazardous locations, specifically chemical, power, and water plants.

The candidate must also be able to read P&ID for various systems; understand the workings of standard process equipment (compressors, pumps, control valves, heat exchangers, generators, etc.). The successful candidate must have experience with standard instrumentation calibration and test equipment and is also required to possess experience in midstream natural gas transmission networks, specifically with pressure regulating and/or compression sites.
