As a Behavior Intervention Specialist at The Arc of Monroe you are responsible for assisting in the coordination of behavioral services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The Behavior Intervention Specialist collaborates closely with people supported and their support teams to coordinate behavioral services, evaluate specific behavioral concerns, and offer evidence-based recommendations.
In this role, you will evaluate specific challenge areas and offer recommendations and positive approaches through written documents and direct interactions, to assist with behavior modification and development of new skills that will enhance the person's quality of life.
You will provide direct supervision and consultation on the implementation of Behavior Support Plans, Medication Monitoring Plans and Behavior Guidelines, supporting multiple programs as needed.
Minimum Education & Experience * Master's Degree in clinical or treatment field of psychology, social work, school psychology, NYS license in Mental Health Counseling or National Board certification in behavior analysis (BCBA). 2-3 years' experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
Training and experience in assessment techniques and behavior support plan development preferred.
Licensure/Certification * Ability to become SCIP-R Certified and able to perform all aspects of SCIP-R.
* Must obtain and maintain certification as a SCIP-R instructor, providing training agency-wide as assigned.
* Must have access to timely and reliable transportation to transport self to multiple sites.
