Position Overview
To serve as a Primary Care Physician of the Butler University Health Services (BUHS) Medical Team; to provide oversight of the BUHS medical services and clinical operations; to provide medical care for patients eligible for BUHS services; to respond to campus health emergencies; to serve as the Collaborative Physician to mid-level providers; and to collaborate and partner with the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
Responsibilities
Provides primary medical care for the students of the university
Serves as the Collaborative Physician to mid-level providers
Provides oversight of BUHS medical and clinical operations
Exhibits professionalism, teamwork, and provides exceptional patient care in all aspects of work
Manages projects effectively
Required Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO)
Completion of an accredited residency program in the United States
Current board certification in primary care specialty appropriate to college health
Current, unrestricted licensure to practice medicine in the state of Indiana
Valid Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Two to five years of experience in providing primary medical care to patients in an ambulatory setting
Demonstrated ability to work successfully with a diverse community and provide services from a non-judgmental and inclusive perspective
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to apply current medical, ethical, legal and clinical standards
Five of more years of experience in providing primary medical care to patients in an ambulatory setting
Two or more years of experience in providing primary medical care to college-age patients
Experience with medical supervision of advanced practice registered nurses and/or physician assistants in a clinic setting
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Excellent professional demeanor
