The Certified Medical Assistant provides assistance to the physicians and practitioners with patient care, administrative, environmental and organizational tasks.

Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm No weekends, evenings or holidays!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Greets patients and assists with patient flow; * Assists with preparatory activities such as taking and documenting vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height and weight, and communicates abnormalities to physician or practitioner; * Assists physicians and/or practitioners with patient care including minor surgical procedures and/or general medical procedures; * Reviews and documents patient medical history, assists with ensuring encounter forms are complete; * Collects and prepares lab specimens; * Electronically submit prescriptions/refills to pharmacies as directed; * Prepares patient rooms, cleans/sterilizes instruments; * Answer patient/pharmacy calls, take messages for physicians, relay lab/test results and instructions to patients as directed, relay hospital consult information to physicians, and other administrative duties as assigned; * MU2/PQRS reporting as instructed; * Follow all health care privacy and safety rules and adheres to Dayton Physicians Core Values; * Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Not applicable Required Education and/ or Experience: * Requires a High School Diploma or GED and; * Two (2) year degree from a college or technical school, and; * Medical Assistant Certification * One (1) year of previous experience as a Medical Assistant; * 2-4 years' experience is preferred.

* Current CPR certification, if not it must be obtained within 60 days of employment and kept current thereafter.

General Skill Requirements: * Excellent oral and written communication * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

* Experience working with a Practice Management system.

* Attendance and punctuality are essential requirements of this position to provide excellent customer service to both our internal and external stakeholders.
