Schedule: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift,
POSITION SUMMARY
Work in close collaboration with Trauma Program Manager, Trauma Medical Director, Administrative Director of Emergency Services as well as leaders in internal hospital system departments to review the performance and safety of the Trauma Program
Oversees and develops the written Trauma Performance Improvement and Patient Safety (PIPS) Program, to include development of quality indicators, complications and other tracking and trending.
Ensure that Trauma Program maintains standards in regards to performance improvement and other related standards in accordance with American College of Surgeons (ACS) Guidelines.
Monitors and evaluates the quality of clinical care of the injured patient concurrently
Develop and maintain monthly data reporting and tracking and is responsible for presentation of data at Trauma Systems Committee Meeting and Trauma Peer Review Committee Meeting.
Support regional, state and national trauma performance improvement activities.
Will provide trauma education and development to nursing staff as needed
Work in coordination with Trauma Medical Director, Trauma Program Manager and EMS Regional Services to monitor and coordinate Injury Prevention Program initiatives. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing and 3-5 years of related experience required. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Georgia Board of Nursing required.
BSN Preferred
Trauma Clinical Experience preferred
BLS, ACLS, PALS required
TNCC required, Instructor status preferred
Must possess strong analytical data skills, accuracy and thoroughness, ability to work independently as well as ability to work collaboratively with other colleagues
Excellent written and verbal communication skill as well as computer skillWORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION
Sedentary: Ability to lift up to 20 pounds' maximum and occasionally lifting. Although a sedentary job is defined as one, which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.
