Cyber Security Lead

The role

Working within our Naval Combat Systems group, the Cyber Security Lead is an ideal leadership role for someone who thrives in a complex program and engineering environment and is passionate about delivering best-in-class cyber security outcomes.

As the Cyber Security Lead, you will lead a small team of trusted advisors who work with both internal and external stakeholders, help shape and build security postures, perform a wide range of security engineering tasks, and build capability. The work is challenging but also rewarding.

Further, as the successful candidate, you will:

Review and approve cyber security requirements, security architecture and security risk assessments throughout the systems engineering lifecycle

Play a key role in achieving security accreditation

Perform a range of engineering tasks including planning and estimation, and policy creation

Act as the subject matter specialist in order to provide expert analysis and advice

Collaborate with suppliers that support independent testing

Provide leadership, mentoring, direction and review outputs of a team of security engineers.

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and a 9-day fortnight will be considered for this role.

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

Proven leadership and mentoring skills, ideally on large, complex engineering projects

Deep expertise in the cyber security engineering

Strong understanding of:

ISM, PSPF, ISO 27001, and related compliance and accreditation processes

End-to-end security project lifecycle

Security architecture and ICT integration

Strong stakeholder engagement and communication

Alignment with a commitment to setting clear expectations, providing feedback and being accountable.

Applicants must hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to at least NV1. Information including past and present nationality and citizenship may be requested to check eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR.
