GENERAL PURPOSE

Boulder City Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Per Diem Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacy operations under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate preparation and distribution of medications throughout the hospital.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and bending required

Full dexterity of fingers and hands

Vision must be 20/20 or corrected to 20/20

Clear verbal and written communication skills required

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain cleanliness and order in the pharmacy and related equipment

Assist in inventory control: ordering, checking for outdated medications, and floor stock inspections

Fill and exchange unit-dose medication carts

Help maintain pharmacy records and documentation

Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor or management

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Aseptic preparation of IV and oral medications: calculating, counting, pouring, mixing, measuring

Transcribe abbreviated and symbolized information from physician orders into patient profiles for pharmacist verification

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

Proficient in relevant PC applications and pharmacy systems

Assist with third-party billing and inpatient/outpatient billing processes

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required

Computer and typing skills required

Completion of pharmacy technician skills evaluation

Active registration with the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy

Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
