Duties * Supervise the Behavior Intervention Room and maintain a room that is conducive to learning * Maintains communication and positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents * Work with Student Services staff to develop restorative justice practices and reflection activities to modify and improve behavior * Collaborate with the Deans to implement behavior interventions and behavior plans to assist students in achieving academic goals.
* Assist students with coursework and assignments, including prioritizing essential learning * Communicate with staff members to secure student assignments and staff member recommendations on how the student can best utilize their time in the room * Conduct activities to improve student-staff or student-student relationships * Assist the Deans with re-engagement activities for students returning from external suspension Qualifications * State of Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS 1 or related endorsement * Computer literacy and competency in use of Apple technology * Interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work successfully with staff and students * Possess effective oral and written communication skills * Believes in a growth-mindset and that all students can learn * Be patient, resilient, tolerant and have a genuine understanding of difficulties students may encounter.
* Detail-oriented and committed to completing work on time and correctly Salary/Benefits Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the daily rate is $310 per day, with benefits available.
