RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST - PER DIEM

JOB SUMMARY

The staff Radiologic Technologist - Per Diem assists in the managing of the daily operations of the Radiology Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION

Participates in continuing education and performance improvement.

Provides radiology services to children from birth to young adulthood and other patients as assigned

Provides medical diagnostic radiography.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Educational Requirements:

Associate Degree required, or satisfactory completion of an accredited school of Radiology Technology.

• Licensure, Certification and Registration:

Current unrestricted license to practice in the State of Maryland as a Radiologic Technologist. Current CPR

• Work Orientation and Experience:

Minimum two years recent experience, preferably in Pediatrics

• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrates excellent customer service skills

Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively and courteously with patients, visitors and members of the health care team

Performs radiologic examinations

Use of computerized radiologic equipment

Process exams including evaluating for technical quality

Computer proficiency

Critical thinking

Team orientation

Organization and time management skills

Other Requirements Specific to Assigned Area:

Ability to position patients, lift 25 pounds, walk, run, sit, stand, stoop, bend, reach, Push, pull and demonstrate manual dexterity, mobility, and visual and auditory ability to do this job.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

• Supervision Received:

Reports to the Director of Outpatient Operations and Clinical Services (RN).

• Supervision Exercised:

None

INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS

• Directly interfaces with patients, visitors, physicians, and other members of the Health Care team

TOOLS/EQUIPMENT USED

• All Radiology equipment to include portable x-ray unit, stationary x-ray unit hospital information system, fax machine, hospital printer, and telephone

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS

• Regular or continuous risk of exposure to body fluids, infectious waste or blood borne diseases requiring the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to established protocol. Occasionally subjected to irregular hours. Occasional stress due to emergency situations or multiple demands.
