This role balances inventory control, lead times, and cost efficiencies while driving supplier performance and fostering strong vendor partnerships.
Success in this position requires hands-on problem resolution, and alignment of procurement activity with shifting production demands and customer priorities.
Key Execute procurement strategies to meet immediate production and inventory requirements.
Manage direct material sourcing including raw materials(chemicals, Actives, packaging and related categories) with a focus on cost competitiveness, quality assurance, and on-time delivery.
Lead and mentor the team of buyers, supervising workloads, performance, and development.
Collaborate closely with supply chain, planning, production, and quality teams to resolve material shortages and expedite urgent requirements.
Develop and track key performance metrics to measure individual and team achievements.
Track and report purchasing KPIs (e.g., OTIF, cost variances, supplier performance) and implement corrective actions as needed.
Vendor & Cost Management Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities while recommending purchasing process improvements.
Negotiate supplier pricing, payment terms, and contracts to optimize cost and value.
Continuous Improvement Lead purchasing process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness.
Ensure compliance with internal procedures, corporate policies, and industry regulations.
Qualifications: Bachelor's or Associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
5-7 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment; direct materials categories (chemicals, actives, surfactants, packaging) experience a strong plus.
Minimum of 5 years supervising senior level buyers Strong proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (QAD, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent). Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and experience with Power BI.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while driving strategic initiatives.
