We’re excited to find a strong leader to serve as Director of our After School Program at Manchester Elementary School in Manchester Center, VT for the 2025–26 school year. As Director, you’ll be responsible for the smooth operation of our Healthy Kids Program Site, creating an enriching environment for children every day.
STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
SCHEDULE: 2:45 PM – 5:30 PM
HOURLY PAY: $18.00 – $20.00 (depending on qualifications)
WHAT THE JOB ENTAILS:
Ensuring Program Compliance: Make sure all activities and staff adhere to local regulations, internal policies, and school-specific guidelines.
Leading Activities: Use the Healthy Kids Curriculum to guide hands-on learning through STEAM, physical activity, creative arts, academic time, and homework support.
Overseeing Logistics: Keep accurate records of attendance and registration and manage daily staffing to ensure coverage.
Keeping Parents Engaged: Communicate regularly with families through the Playground App, building trust and transparency.
Supporting Your Team: Maintain ongoing communication with your supervisor to resolve any issues and foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
QUALIFICATIONS:
You’re 18+ and hold a BA, BS, or Associate’s degree
Plus, you meet at least one of these criteria:
10 months working directly with school-age children
Vermont On-the-Job Training Certificate
Vermont Afterschool Professional Credential
Vermont Program Director Credential
Vermont Teaching License
Master’s degree in a youth-related area
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Medical clearance (including being free from communicable illnesses like TB)
Strong interpersonal skills — warm, upbeat, and communicative
Reliable, professional, and punctual
Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and staying active during shifts
