Wastewater Superintendent

DUTIES: Under general supervision from the Public Works Director, performs a variety of administrative and supervisory responsibilities in assuring efficient services of the Payson City Wastewater Division. This position manages the Wastewater Division, which performs a variety of general maintenance, service, and repair for the City Wastewater Treatment Plant and Collection System. Provides leadership and strategic planning to ensure regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement of public wastewater services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Civil Engineering, business management or related field.

Experience: Five years related experience as a Wastewater Treatment IV Unrestricted Operator and Wastewater Collections IV Unrestricted Operator, including two years of supervisory experience.

Licenses/Certifications: Must possess valid Utah CDL: Class A, Unrestricted Wastewater Collection IV Certification, Unrestricted Wastewater Treatment Plant IV Certification, Flagging Certification, CPR Certification, Traffic Control Technician Certification, and IS-100, IS-200, and IS-700 Certifications within one year of hire date.

SALARY: Salary Range is $39.66 to $63.45 per hour. Typical Hiring Range: $39.66 to $51.55 per hour depending on experience plus a comprehensive benefits package.

SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week. M-TH, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Must be able to respond to emergencies within 30 minutes. Evenings and some weekends may be required.
