Physical Therapist Consistent PRN

Hattiesburg & Collins, Mississippi

Mid South is hiring a PT to work PRN with our rehab therapy TEAM in South Mississippi. The assignment is consistent work each week at a nursing home in Collins and an ALF in Hattiesburg.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience preferred

Must have current unrestricted professional license to practice

Graduate from a school accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association with a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Physical Therapy

Must possess excellent organizational, time management, and leadership abilities

Excellent oral and written communication skills are required

Principal Job Responsibilities

Meet company guidelines by maintaining company established productivity levels.

Performs an accurate comprehensive initial evaluation based on the patients diagnosis.

Develops appropriate, functional and measurable goals and a plan of treatment to meet the goals based on input from the patient/family.

Establishes a realistic time frame to achieve treatment goals.

Performs a variety of techniques to improve function, tone, strength, ROM, balance, etc.

Selects and administers treatment modalities appropriately.

Performs effective gait training program.

Provides appropriate wound care, i.e., setting up sterile field, debridement of necrotic tissue, and application of topical medication and bandages.

Utilizes positioning as a technique to prevent or reduce deformities and/or promote function.

Assesses indications for, fit of, and proper use of orthotics and prosthetics.

Follows all state regulations for and maintains current licensure.

Provides written documentation in accordance with accepted professional standards, company standards, and all State and Federal laws, rules and regulations.

Enters all pertinent documentation into the patient progress notes in a timely manner per department and facility(s) policy.

Ensures timely and accurate reporting for billing of all services provided.

Progresses the patient appropriately.

Ensures timely D/C planning.

Educates the patients/family/staff regarding a home exercise program or Functional Maintenance Program, assistance required, and equipment fit and function.

Maintains good working relationship with facility(s) staff/customer(s).

Act as a clinical preceptor, as directed.

Follows company expectations in regards to HIPAA/Corporate Compliance policies and procedures.

Adheres with Medicare Final Local Medical Review Policy for discipline specific guidelines.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Job duties are generally performed in a clean and well-equipped area with uniform temperatures and normal noise levels

Work alternates between sitting and standing with mobility necessary

Average sight, talking, hearing, and touching are necessary

Ability to lift, turn, move, position and /or transport patient in/out of bed, chair, wheelchair with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a threat to health or safety of him/herself or others, including patients, their families, and co-workers

Must be able to drive between facilities and specific locations as needed

Ability to administer CPR

Exposure

Physical Therapist will have close contact with patients and is likely to come in contact with blood or bodily fluids.
