The UX Manager leads a team of UX Designers to deliver high-quality, user-centered digital experiences across web and mobile platforms. Responsible for the daily performance and growth of the team, this role combines hands-on design leadership with people management, ensuring consistency in design standards, accessibility, and user engagement. The Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business goals into intuitive, engaging user experiences, while mentoring team members and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement

The Role

Manages the UX design team and their workload across multiple projects and teams, ensuring best practices and consistency.

Manages project timelines, design execution, and resource alignment to ensure deliverables are met.

Able to execute as an individual contributor in addition to managing a team and day-to-day operations.

Builds and maintains positive relationships with Product Owners, Marketing, IT, and Agile teams to ensure seamless communication and deliver implementable and impactful UX solutions.

Ability to interface effectively with business partners across the organization.

Advocate for UX within the organization, promoting user-first thinking.

Facilitate and drive the Product Owner’s vision through ideation and concept development.

Help define and refine UX standards and processes across the organization.

Contribute to UX strategy and roadmap planning in alignment with business goals.

Support agile ceremonies and contribute to backlog grooming and prioritization.

Present design concepts and strategies to stakeholders and senior leadership.

Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.

Develops the creation and maintenance of pattern and style libraries.

Ensure adherence to accessibility standards and brand guidelines.

Facilitate usability testing and iterate designs based on feedback.

Provides coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback.

Align team assignments with individual strengths and project needs.

Identify skill gaps and establish training plans to support team development.

Upholds the value of UX best practices within the business and represents the needs of the team to upper management.

Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture focused on user-centered design.

Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to inform design innovation.

What you offer

Bachelor’s degree in design, HCI, Computer Science, or related field.

7+ years of experience in UX design, acting in a leadership role for at least 2 years.

Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design across multiple platforms.

Proficiency in design tools (Figma, Miro etc.)

Familiarity with HTML/CSS/JavaScript is a plus.

Experience working in Agile environments.

Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Passion for accessibility, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Knowledge of the insurance/financial services industry beneficial.

Excellent planning and strategic skills are essential.

High level of initiative and drive for results.

Self-starter and detail-oriented, passionate about all things UX and other areas of design and innovation.

Operates with a sense of urgency to meet tight deadlines.
