Job Description
Are you looking for a flexible, part-time accounting role in Columbus, OH? We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our team, working up to 28 hours per week. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys supporting financial operations and collaborating across departments.
Key Duties:
Generate a variety of financial documents, such as income statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss reports.
Record transactions by posting journal entries to the general ledger.
Assign codes to invoices, establish new accounts, and manage monthly account closures.
Handle payroll processing and create related payroll documentation.
Review accounting outputs to ensure accuracy and correct any clerical errors.
Allocate expenses to appropriate accounts in line with internal procedures.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, payments, and collections.
Reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts, as well as general ledger entries.
Contribute to month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and accruals.
Maintain comprehensive financial records and support audit and internal control processes.
Prepare and share regular financial updates with internal stakeholders.
Support budget monitoring, expense tracking, and financial analysis.
Work with other teams to ensure expenses are coded and reported correctly.
Assist with audit preparation, tax filings (including annual 990), and compliance activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
At least two years of experience in an accounting or finance support capacity.
Solid grasp of accounting concepts and financial reporting.
Experience in a non-profit financial environment is a plus.
Skills & Attributes:
Outstanding attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
Capable of managing several tasks simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Technical Proficiency:
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite.
ERP familiarity (Oracle, Sage, NetSuite, etc..)
Pay Details: $24.00 to $27.00 per hour
