Fixed term opportunity for an experienced HR Consultant until mid August 2026

A large and supportive team with opportunities for growth and development within the University

Base Salary from $112,628 to $122,702 + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

The HR Consultant (Advisory) provides Human Resource (HR) advice, information, guidance, and support across a range of client groups as required. The role will report into the Senior HR Consultant however will work closely with HR Partners and COE’s to ensure the provision of efficient and effective HR support and advice.

The HR Consulting function is in a period of significant development, striving to achieve an integrated service offering aligned with the university’s ambitious workforce planning and organisational design objectives. As a result, we are seeking a proactive and solutions-focused HR Consultant to provide operational advice and support to University leaders and managers, spanning professional and academic client groups.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

play a significant and valued role in operationalising, supporting, and coordinating key people and culture initiatives

support end-to-end project management of key HR initiatives

provide day-to-day employee lifecycle advice and guidance (including performance management) to line management

develop client group metrics and presentations, where required, to support the implementation of HR initiatives

promote and encourage relevant employment programs aligned with the business and HR strategies

work collaboratively with functional specialists on solutions, presenting HR to the client as a united front

identify continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to implementing process efficiencies.

About you

This position is seeking an outstanding, values-aligned individual who has (however is not limited to):

significant relevant HR generalist experience in a complex and client focused environment

proven ability in developing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships

ability to drive projects and decisions through to completion

ability to deliver effective and efficient HR solutions across the employee lifecycle

experience with the Workday HRIS and ServiceNOW (as a case management system) would be an advantage

demonstrated experience of employment frameworks e.g., industry legislation, enterprise agreements and HR practices with commercial/business acumen

an agile and flexible approach that is able to pivot and contribute to overall team success.
