We are currently recruiting for a Catering Support Driver to be a part of our integral team at Uppingham School.

As a Catering Support Driver you will support the team in basic food preparation and provide an excellent food service to both students and staff.

What you'll be doing

Cleaning duties within the kitchen

Ensuring Health & safety compliance is met

Providing a friendly and polite customer service for all

We need someone who shares our passion for delivering exceptional food and service along with the following skills and experience

Prepare orders for catering delivery in a timely manner according to customer specifications.

Load and unload catering delivery van with food and supplies.

Drive delivery van to customer locations in a safe and timely manner.

Ensure orders are accurate and delivered on time.

Follow all safety and traffic laws while driving.

Follow delivery instructions from Chefs

Maintain and clean delivery van on a regular basis.

Keep records of deliveries, including addresses, items delivered

Make sure catering items are stored properly and at the proper temperature.

Report any vehicle maintenance issues to supervisor immediately.

Assist with Stocktaking, deliveries of produce.

Experience

A full clean driving license is required for this role (must be 21 years or over with minimum 2 years driving experience)

Have previous catering experience

Good customer service skills

Ability to follow directions

Good organizational skills

Punctuality

Ability to lift and carry heavy items

Knowledge of the local area

Knowledge of food safety and food handling practices

Knowledge of applicable health codes and regulations

Valid drivers license and clean driving record

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Ability to work quickly and efficiently

Good communication skills

Ability to multitask

Ability to problem solve

Being a Catering Delivery Driver requires a variety of skills that are essential for success. One of the most important skills is a strong attention to detail. Paying close attention to the delivery instructions, ensuring accuracy in order delivery, and double-checking orders before leaving the pickup location.
