Role Summary

The Senior Manager, Technical Program Management, is responsible for overseeing large-scale, multi-year technology programs across divisions. This role drives all phases of program execution, ensuring alignment with business objectives, budget compliance and risk mitigation. The position requires strong leadership, strategic planning and stakeholder management to ensure the successful delivery of complex technology initiatives while maintaining high-quality standards.

Core Responsibilities

1. Hire, evaluate and supervise a team of technical program managers, providing training, mentorship, and performance oversight.

2. Define and maintain a multi-year technology program roadmap, ensuring clear actions and deliverables to achieve business goals.

3. Oversee all phases of the program lifecycle, from inception to implementation, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.

4. Build strong relationships with program sponsors, leadership teams and workstream leads across departments, divisions, and external partners.

5. Manage program budgets, monitor cost variances and ensure financial alignment with business objectives.

6. Identify and mitigate program risks while ensuring adherence to regulatory, compliance, audit and legal requirements.

7. Establish program management frameworks, methodologies and best practices to standardize execution across technical projects.

8. Align technical projects across different business units, ensuring smooth execution and dependency management.

9. Track program progress, consolidate technical project status and present key insights to leadership.

10. Participate in strategic initiatives, drive continuous improvement and introduce innovative approaches to technical program management.

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum 12 years of relevant work experience, with at least 10 years in project management.

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Prosci, or Agile certifications) is a plus.

Proficiency in program management frameworks, agile methodologies, and technical governance.

Expertise in budget planning, financial oversight, and risk management for technology initiatives.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to engage with executives and technical teams.

Familiarity with technical infrastructure, software development lifecycle (SDLC), and emerging technologies.

Experience working in highly regulated environments with a focus on compliance and audit requirements.

Location

This role is based in Hyderabad, Telangana at Vanguard’s India office. Only qualified external applicants will be considered.
