Description

Responsibilities:

Lead the day-to-day operations for all janitorial, sanitation, and machine cleaning activities.

Complete department personnel training according to SOP training schedule.

Develop, implement, and follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.

Set expectations for sanitation with Quality Assurance.

Assist Director of Operations and/or Vice President in meeting requirements of the annual operating budget for the department.

Act as primary contact for cleaning chemical supplier.

Provide input to the Director of Operations and/or Vice President on staffing needs for the department.

Ensure that all safety programs are being followed and that no unsafe activities are being performed.

Ensure that product quality standards are understood by all personnel and are being followed.

Ensure that all necessary training is completed.

Ensure that GMP requirements are understood and being followed.

Assist with pest control.

Provide ongoing recommendations for improvements.

Provide leadership for continuous improvement projects both within area of responsibility and within the facility in total.

Participate in employee suspension and termination meetings.

Support Company policies, procedures, and work-rules and ensure that department employees comply with policies, standards, and work-rules.

Assist with interviewing and selection process of new hires for department, ensuring that non-discriminatory laws and guidelines are followed.

Counsel and discipline employees, as needed, to ensure compliance with Company policies, standards, and work rules.

Set a positive example of leadership to others throughout the organization; promote a leadership style that encourages open communication, positive team-building efforts, and employee morale.

Reports To: QA Process Control Manager.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Ability and willingness to work late or during weekends, as needed or required.

Ability to maintain a positive, professional, cooperative demeanor, conduct, and working relationship with peers, management, employees, and other individuals that interact with this position.

Ability to comply, interpret and support Company policies, procedures, work rules, and protocols.

Ability to adapt effectively to workplace changes and new job duties/responsibilities.

Ability to always represent the Company in a positive and professional manner.

Minimum of (3) years of experience in a food manufacturing environment required, including at least (1) year working in sanitation.

Minimum of (1) years of supervisory experience required.

Knowledge of cGMP's and HACCP required.

Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety systems required.

High school diploma required.

Demonstrated achievements in lean and continuous improvement preferred.

Strong written and oral English communication skills required

Bi-lingual (Spanish) beneficial.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.
