RESPONSIBILITIES * Mechanical Assembly: Assemble metal enclosures, frames, and mechanical subassemblies for switchgear systems following blueprints, layout drawings, and work instructions.
* Component Installation: Install mechanical hardware such as doors, hinges, panels, gaskets, and brackets using hand and power tools.
* Precision Layout: Use measuring devices such as calipers, rulers, and squares to ensure proper alignment and fit of parts and assemblies.
* Drilling & Modifying: Drill holes, tap threads, and make minor modifications to metal components as needed to support custom builds or design adjustments.
* Quality Assurance: Inspect completed assemblies for accuracy, proper fit, and finish; report or correct any defects to meet product quality standards.
* Documentation & Reporting: Accurately complete production checklists, assembly records, and other required documentation.
* Safety & Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area; adhere to safety procedures when working with tools, equipment, and materials.
QUALIFICATIONS * High school diploma or GED * Forklift or Crane experience * Prior experience in mechanical assembly or fabrication in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and layout diagrams.
* Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and basic shop equipment.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
* Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
* Willingness to follow all safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment.
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS * This position may require standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and using tools or equipment that require manual dexterity.
* Exposure to noise, sharp tools, and metal components in a manufacturing setting.
* Flexibility to work shifts or overtime as needed.
