About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Demolition Excavation Operator to join our team in Chicago. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating heavy equipment for demolition and excavation projects, ensuring safe and efficient site preparation and teardown. Candidates with management or crew leadership skills are strongly preferred, as this role may involve directing team members and coordinating site operations.
Responsibilities:
Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, loaders, skid steers, and other demolition/excavation equipment.
Perform demolition, earthmoving, trenching, and site clearing tasks according to project plans.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety regulations at all times.
Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
Work closely with project managers and crew members to meet deadlines.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials moved.
(Preferred) Lead and supervise crew members on job sites, providing guidance and direction as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in demolition and/or excavation operations.
Proficiency in operating excavators and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
Knowledge of demolition techniques, site preparation, and soil/ground conditions.
Ability to read and follow blueprints, site plans, and safety protocols.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Management or crew leadership experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
Schedule & Compensation:
Full-time position (40+ hours per week; overtime may be required).
