Situated on a private island in the Florida Keys, Little Palm is accessible only from the shore station by our private ferry. With only 30 luxury suites, a Balinese-style spa, the main attraction is the exclusive waterside dining overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, with sunset views and fire pits for enjoying a nightcap.

With over half of the seats located right on the ocean, The Dining Room seats 100 guests and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. In addition, you and the team create an exclusive collection of lounge offerings, amenities, in-room dining options, and cater to small, refined groups.

The Job: Sous Chef

The Sous Chef is a key part of the leadership team driving culinary excellence at Little Palm Island. As Sous Chef, you will assist the Executive Chef in continuing to build and develop the team consisting of, Sous Chefs Pastry Chef, and 10-12 local and international line-level culinary associates (for whom employee housing is provided).

You will partner with our Executive Chef in menu development and maintaining the culture and vision of the culinary program. Beyond that, you let your creative juices flow with specials, seasonal menus, Island buy-outs, Chef Tables in our state of the art, no expense spared, kitchen.

Requirements

What it Takes to be the successful Sous Chef:

To be successful in the role as Sous Chef you bring experience leading a culinary team in a fine dining restaurant or luxury, boutique hotel with a top-notch exclusive restaurant (think Relais & Chateaux).

Other experience such as a degree from an accredited culinary institute will be highly regarded.

Naturally, you have the drive to exceed expectations for this iconic location. This will come with your innate ability to handle the ups, downs and sometimes long hours of a world class kitchen and the leadership skills to develop and inspire a culinary team.
