Job Description
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our Home Health Care team. As the first point of contact, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional service to our patients and visitors. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, multitasking abilities, and a passion for supporting healthcare professionals in a home health setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet patients, visitors, and family members in a warm and professional manner
Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls and inquiries to the appropriate staff
Schedule appointments for patient visits, including home health care assessments
Maintain and update patient records and documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system
Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary documentation for billing
Ensure all paperwork is completed by patients before appointments
Assist with the intake process for new patients, including verifying eligibility and obtaining necessary authorizations
Provide information to patients and families regarding home health care services, policies, and procedures
Manage and coordinate incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail, faxes, and emails
Ensure the front desk area is clean, organized, and presentable
Assist with billing, filing, and administrative tasks as needed
Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient care delivery
Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required; additional administrative or healthcare-related certifications preferred
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., EPIC, Cerner) preferred
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
