Manage day-to-day administration of databases (Oracle, SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching.
Monitor database health, performance, and availability using monitoring tools
Execute backup, restore, and recovery operations as per policies.
Troubleshoot and resolve database errors, performance issues, and incidents escalated from L1
Manage user accounts, roles, and access privileges to ensure data security
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as index rebuilding, statistics updates, and space management
Generate and review database performance, capacity, and availability reports
Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and storage teams for issue resolution
Escalate unresolved issues/requests to the appropriate teams
Knowledge of Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard is an advantage
Document standard operating procedures (SOPs), configurations, and change activities
Ensure compliance with organizational security, backup, and disaster recovery policies
Support database migration, replication, and clustering activities as required
Person Specification
Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
Professional Certifications such as OCA / OCP, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator
Knowledge in Database Architecture
Sound understanding of Various Databases technologies
Ability to work under tight schedules
Ability to troubleshoot database related performance issues in order to identify the root cause
