Elementary School Counselor

Qualifications: Master's degree in school counseling State certification or licensure as a school counselor If not fully credentialed, willingness to receive credentials and apply for temporary licensure Knowledge of child development, educational psychology, and mental health Strong communication and interpersonal skills Training in mental health, trauma-informed care, or suicide prevention Understanding of Indiana state testing regulations and protocols Responsibilities: Ability to respond to student crisis situations, including threats to student safety, self-harm, or violence Conduct individual and small group counseling sessions on various topics Identify students in need of support and provide short term counseling Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Sections 504 meetings to support students Mentone Elementary Testing Coordinator
