YARD DRIVER-DC

As the DC Yard Driver, you will: Coordinate movement of all in-bound and out-bound trailers in the yard.

Move trailers to and from the yard based on instructions received from the shipping or receiving coordinators.

* Complete a DVIR on the yard tractor at the beginning of the shift.

* Receive instructions from the coordinator on what trailers need to be moved to which doors.

* Follows all yard safety procedures including but not limited to * Staying alert to traffic in the yard * Hooking tractors * Removing chocks * Handling swing outdoors * Close all trailer doors before exiting the yard.

* Follows the rules of the road to transfer trailers to other warehouses.

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements: * High School Diploma or GED * Must have a current CDL (Class A) to drive on public roads.

* Ability to work 3rd shift- Sunday through Thursday.

* Must be able to provide a good safety record and maintain this record while in this position.

* Must have good attendance record and past record of dependability.

* Must have the ability to communicate and work well with other departments (particularly shipping and receiving coordinators). * Must be willing to work OT as necessary.

* 5 years of good driving experience; would consider less experience if candidate worked as yard driver.
