The Social Science Department at Jefferson Community College is seeking part-time adjunct faculty in History to grow our adjunct pool.
Candidates may be needed to teach in one or more of the following courses: American History to 1877, American History 1877 to Present, History of Western Civilization 1, History of Western Civilization 2.
There is also a possibility that adjuncts may be needed to teach other courses for the Department including Introduction to World Geography.
Requirements: Master's degree in a History-related field preferred, however candidates with a bachelor's degree and at least three graduate-level History courses will be considered.
Applicants must interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations, foster inclusion, and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally under-represented in higher education.

Adjunct applications will be kept on file for three years to fill part-time teaching vacancies as they occur.
The College determines the need for adjunct instructors based on planned courses each term; it is not possible to predict the need for future semesters.
When an opening does occur, finalists for adjunct positions are contacted for interviews.
Level A - $665/credit hour Level B - $785/credit hour after teaching 6 semesters at Jefferson.
