Responsible for supervising Allied Health or Nursing students in lab and clinical experiences.
In addition to teaching, there may be Division responsibilities and academic service duties as described in the NWC Board Policy Manual.
These may include, but are not limited to advising students, participating on committees, student recruitment, curriculum development and articulation with high school and university faculty.
Will include travel to surrounding areas for clinical experiences and may include some weekend, overnight, or evening hours.
Position typically requires a teaching load of the equivalent of 30 credits per year.
This is a non-benefitted position due to 1 semester assignment.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties * Provide high quality, engaging theoretical instruction and clinical or practicum experiences as assigned by Director of Nursing, in accordance with Northwest College guidelines and best practices in nursing instruction.
* Contribute to and facilitate the purpose, philosophy, objectives, and organizational framework of the nursing program.
* Provide accurate, useful, and timely feedback to students.
* Design, implement and assess/evaluate the curriculum, using a written plan.
* Follow the guidelines for student admission, progression, retention, and graduation policies within the policies of the institution.
* Assist with academic advising and other related activities to include: * Advise students and support students in program-related activities.
* Post and observe office hours for the purposes of academic advising and student consultation.
Hold office hours at times that support student success.
Meet with students as needed by appointment.
* Advise and assist students during the ongoing registration process.
* Evaluate student achievement of curricular objectives related to nursing knowledge and practice; inform students of progress in the program.
Evaluate student performance and achievement of course, program, and all-college student learning outcomes.
* Provide students and peer evaluation of teaching effectiveness.
* Maintain one's own nursing competence and professional expertise in the area of teaching responsibility and maintaining clinical competence through clinical experience.
Personal and professional development to include: * Maintain a high level of content knowledge and engage in ongoing professional development in relation to one's field and teaching.
* Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge and competence in appropriate academic disciplines.
* In accordance with the nursing program philosophy and outcomes, develop and/or follow course syllabi to provide effective varied instruction techniques that promote learning and address student achievement of expected learning outcomes.
* Recommend appropriate texts and teaching aids which will be of the most value to the teaching-learning process.
* Monitor the instruction provided by off-campus preceptors.
* Contribute to program, division, and department meetings.
* Serve as an ex-officio member of the Nursing Advisory Board * Participate in college faculty meetings and committees as requested, elected or assigned.
* Maintain relationships with local, state, regional, and national groups as determined by program need.
* Coordinate and participate in assigned clinical activities to ensure the highest level of student learning and working relationships for the student, faculty and program.
* Work closely with the Director of Nursing to address instructional and student concerns.
* Maintain a current, unencumbered RN license in Wyoming.
* Demonstrate mutual respect and civility and coordinate activities to promote the highest level of student learning and productive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, administration, and community members.
Maintain positive working relationships and open communication with hospital and other clinical sites and staff, as well as with faculty and staff within the program and division.
* Contribute to delivery of instruction using distance delivery methods.
* Contribute to positive program articulations with schools and colleges.
* Contribute to the college-wide assessment of student learning outcomes.
* Actively participate in assisting the College in maintaining standards required for accreditation.
* Assist others on an as needed basis * Adhere to the departmental expectations for lab and clinical facility dress code.
* Participate in college activities.
* Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Training and Experience * Master's degree in nursing from a regionally accredited college or university * Current unencumbered registered nurse licensure in the State of Wyoming or privilege to practice through nurse compact agreement licensure status.
* Successfully completed ten clock hours of educational preparation in principles of teaching, learning, and evaluation of performance or be willing to do this within one year of hire.
* Proficiency in written, oral, and interpersonal communication.
* Skill in developing rapport with students and student mentoring skills.
* Experience in promoting learning in and/or out of the classroom.
* Demonstrated willingness to participate in a collaborative team approach to facilitating student learning and success.
* Demonstrated commitment to assessment of student academic achievement.
* Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development.
Other Requirements: * Current American Heart healthcare Provider CPR Certification * Able to provide documentation for current immunizations: Influenza, TB skin test, Hepatitis B, MMR/Rubeola and Rubella Titer, Tetanus, and Varicella vaccination or titer.
Preferred Training & Experience * Experience teaching nursing * At least two years' clinical experience relevant to area of responsibility * Curriculum development experience * Current clinical experience * Demonstrated ability to develop strategies for assessing and improving student learning.

* Advising and student support experience * Proficiency in computer applications * Experience in delivering distance education, hybrid and/or online classes.
