Position Type: Support Staff/Teacher Assistant (Para) Date Posted: 8/19/2025 Location: All Schools Date Available: When Filled Additional Information: Show/Hide Park County School District 6 ELL Para-Educator 4 Hours/Day Salary: $18.90 - $30.90 Purpose Statement The job of Para-Educator - ELL is done for the purpose/s of assisting a regular classroom teacher in the supervision and instruction of qualifying students whose first language is not English, performing classroom clerical tasks and serving as a resource to other school personnel requiring assistance with non-English speaking persons.
This job reports to Principal / Ell Coordinator Essential Functions * Assists ELL students, individually or in small groups, with assignments (e.g.
listen to students read, provide writing assistance, reinforce lessons, facilitate activities, etc.) for the purpose of reinforcing learning concepts and assisting students in reaching their academic goals and grade level standards.
* Assists with management of ELL student behavior through the use of positive strategies and techniques for the purpose of enhancing educational progress and maintaining a safe, orderly environment for learning.
* Assists ELL students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments, drills, practices and study activities for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
* Collaborates with teachers and teacher assistants for the purpose of supporting ELL student success and meeting educational needs.
* Implements under the supervision of the teacher, instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
* Maintains a variety of records and files, including confidential student records and information for the purpose of supporting the work of the teacher and providing necessary information.
* Maintains confidentiality of all information concerning students, staff and parents/guardian for the purpose of preserving the privacy of all individuals/families involved with the District.
* Modifies and makes accommodations to classroom work/homework for the purpose of providing a method to support and/or reinforce academic objectives.
* Monitors individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings (e.g.
classroom, playground, field trips, library, lunchroom, bus loading/unloading, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
* Prepares a variety of instructional materials and learning aids for the purpose of enhancing the learning of assigned ELL students.
* Requisitions an appropriate inventory of textbooks, instructional materials, supplies, and equipment to be stored, used and maintained for the purpose of enhancing the teaching/learning environment.
Other Functions * Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities SKILLS are required to perform single, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard office equipment including using pertinent software applications; preparing and maintaining accurate records.; adhering to safety practices and procedures; administering first aid; operating standard office equipment and office technology; and using curriculum and instructional techniques.

Work Environment The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity.

The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
