Data Analyst - Administrative Staff and unclassified pursuant to §124.11 (A) (30) and §3333.03 of the Revised Code.
Serves at the pleasure of the Chancellor and in a fiduciary capacity to the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE). Reports directly to the Director, Data Management & Analysis.
* Assists with all aspects of data input, usage, and related training with Ohio's Colleges and Universities and the Higher Education Information System (HEI) and Ohio Technical College (OTC) systems.
* Assists in the management and creation of user accounts for ODHE applications.
* Provides customer support to institutions engaging with ODHE applications and services.
* Responds to data requests from the public.
* Performs analysis to assess and maintain data quality standards for data submissions from campuses through the HEI system.
* Assists in the development of queries to identify common submission problems and errors.
* Assists in the implementation of data quality control measures and performs data quality audits as needed.
* Aids in the development of standards to ensure reproducible and reliable analyses by the Data Analytics team.
* Ensures appropriate handling of confidential and sensitive information and information systems comprised of personally identifiable information as defined by FERPA.
* Other duties as assigned.
* Bachelor's Degree.
* Strong quantitative, analytical and writing skills.
* Familiarity with statistical software such as SAS and SPSS; knowledge of SQL.
* Proficient with use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access software.
* Ability to work in data collection and research environment.
* Capable of writing detailed documents, conducting research in a team environment, and working with complex data.
* Experience making presentations and leading discussions.
* Solid customer service skills and teamwork experience are essential.
* Position requires administrative access to the HEI Auth and HEI system, which will require acknowledgement of stricter background check scrutiny.
