Title: Locum - Physician Assistant (PA) - OB/GYN Colorado Springs, CO

Description:

Summary: St. Francis Hospital (SFH) and Penrose Main Hospital (PEN) are looking for APP support for their Gynecological Oncologist. APPs will be onsite 7a-5p and will have a 1 hour unpaid lunch. Additionally the APP will take night call from the hospital and ED. They will consult on surgery, help with treatment decisions, and perform pelvic exams. The APP will assist the internal GYN oncologist with surgeries performed int he OR, and will round on GYN Onc patients in the hospital.

BID DUE DATE: First to Fill!

RATES:

Malpractice Must be included in rates.

Orientation half the hourly/callback rate*** kicks in after 8 hours. Per hour of orientation or training beyond 8 hours

Hourly *** - Per hour, not OT

Holiday *** - Must be 1.5x the hourly rate*** Per holiday hour, no OT

Nightly Call *** - Per night call to hold the pager, to include 2.5 hours gratis

Holiday Nightly Call - *** - "Per night call to hold the pager, to include 2.5 hours gratis

Call Back *** Per hour of patient contact hours, after gratis hours are completed, gratis prorate to MSA terms.

Holiday Call Back *** Per holiday hour of patient contact hours, after gratis hours are completed, gratis prorate to MSA terms.

Schedule/Availability Requirements:

July 23, 26-27, 30

Aug 2, 6, 10, 13, 20, 27

Sept 1, 10, 13-14, 17, 24, 27, 28

Details:

7a-5p with one hour unpaid lunch + night call - 5p-7a (2.5 gratis)

Facility Location: 6001 E. Woodmen Road., Colorado Springs, CO 80923

Setting: Inpatient, Emergency Room, Clinic, Trauma Level III

Days per month: 10

Required Procedures: Pelvic exams, pap smears, simple biopsies, Surgical Assist, Consults in E.D, & other duties as assigned.

EMR: EPIC

Support Staff: RN, LPN/LVN

Reason for Coverage: Provider shortage, recruitment challenges

Dealbreakers: locums must be willing to round on patients, perform pelvic exams, take calls, triage problem visits, and manage in basket.

EMR Required Training:

Module (learn lessons) Must be completed prior to virtual EMR training to attend the training.

EMR Virtual training Only able to attend if Modules are completed before training. Provider will be required to complete Modules, EUPA test and PPL at least one week prior to their start date.

All candidates must complete the following EMR questionnaire and detail it in the notes section of the candidates submission at time of presentation.

Travel Preferences:

Preferred Lodging: Candidates must follow CSH Travel Policy

Air Travel: Local/drive in candidates are highly preferred

Please detail any anticipated travel exceptions, for example a dietary restriction necessitating specific lodging situations. Travel exception requests will be denied if this information is not part of the provider presentation. Please also indicate the city where provider will be traveling from in the travel section of the provider submission.

Credentialing Information:

Timeframe: 30 days standard, Emergency temp privs available.

Credentialing with other facilities? Yes, PEN

Billing enrollment - Is this position providing services in lieu of an existing enrolled provider for a period of 60 days or less? No.

What type of cases are the APPs going to be first assisting on? Laparoscopic surgery (hysterectomy, BSO, resection of masses, pelvic and para-aortic lymph node dissections, Ex Laps).

Candidates must have experience with inpatient and clinic. They must be able to answer calls about floor patients, ED consults, rounds, as well as see problem visits in office and answer questions.

Is there anything related to oncology in the surgery room? not particularly.

Is first assist certificate required for NPs? No but they need to show activity showing they have been first assist in the last 24 months.
