Job Description: SALARY: $79,172 - $86,513 annually Commensurate with experience Step Salary System to be awarded annually on the anniversary date of hire and would typically start at Step I.

Please note, the salary range indicated is firm.

Position is governed by the City of Brockton Ordinances and is not eligible for remote work.

REPORTS TO: Works under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer and the Budget Director SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Grant Writer is responsible for identifying and securing grant funding opportunities, preparing and submitting grant proposals, managing awarded grants throughout their lifecycle, and ensuring financial oversight and compliance.

This includes tracking expenditures, assisting with budget development and amendments, and supporting accurate and timely financial reporting to internal stakeholders and external funders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Researches and identifies potential grant funding opportunities aligned with the City's mission and departmental goals.

* Collaborates with City departments to assess funding needs and assist in aligning grant strategies with strategic priorities.

* Writes, edits, and submits grant proposals, ensuring timely and complete submissions that meet all application requirements.

* Manages awarded grants by monitoring performance and deliverables, ensuring compliance with grant terms and conditions.

* Prepares and maintains detailed financial records and documentation to support budgeting, spending, and audit-readiness for all active grants.

* Tracks grant expenditures and assists departments with budget reconciliation and forecasting.

* Supports the preparation and submission of financial and performance reports to granting agencies in accordance with required deadlines.

* Develops and maintains relationships with funding agencies, external partners, and internal stakeholders.

* Provides technical assistance and guidance to City departments regarding grant procedures, allowable costs, and reporting requirements.

* Maintains organized digital and physical grant files in accordance with City policies and recordkeeping best practices.

* Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED AT HIRE: Bachelor's degree in Language Arts, English or a related field and 2-3 years of grant writing experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: * Strong knowledge of federal, state, and private grant funding sources and grant compliance requirements.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel for budgeting and financial tracking.

* Ability to prepare, analyze, and interpret budgets and financial reports.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

* Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

* Knowledge of or experience with grants management software and financial systems (preferred but not required). * Demonstrates commitment to working with diverse populations and furthering diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
