Under the direction of the Security Coordinator, the Security Transport Officer is responsible for ensuring the safe transport of committed/behavioral health patients.
Assumes responsibility for ensuring patients do not escape, are not injured or injure others.
IV.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS * Must be high school graduate or the equivalent.
* Must have successfully completed the minimum standard training for Security Officers as required by the State of South Carolina and be commissioned as a Security Officer.
* Must complete Defensive Driving Course (DDC). * Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly in both oral and written form and edit the written communications of subordinates.
* Must be familiar with the proper use of two-way radio and codes.
* Ability to physically defend self, subdue attackers and properly use handcuffs and Tasers.
* Ability to maintain composure, use good judgment and make sound decisions in emergency and stressful situations.
