The Accounting Coordinator acts as a liaison between the Home Office and Store operations on behalf of the Accounting Operations team. The ideal candidate will oversee and streamline accounting operations ensuring that processes are efficient, accurate, and compliant. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Accounting Operations, the Accounting Coordinator will work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders to support daily accounting functions, assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Be a liaison between the restaurant locations and Home Office Team
Coordinate and support day-to-day accounting operations
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities
Manage the accounts payable electronic workflow process, via Hyland Onbase
Support the implementation and integration of accounting software and systems
Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and information
Handle special accounting projects as needed and assist with various operational tasks within the department
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Bachelor’s or associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Previous hospitality industry experience desired
Must be personable and display exemplary guest service skills
Must communicate effectively and consistently exhibit courteous, respectful, and appropriate communications and present information in a concise and understandable format with all levels of management
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Strong knowledge of Excel
