The School of Physician Assistant Studies, Boston seeks a full-time Program Director to provide leadership in administration and management of the MCPHS University Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) Program on the Boston Campus.

The Program Director will promote quality education for the students in accordance with University, School, and Program missions and values and in accordance with ARC-PA accreditation standards.

The Program Director will oversee and ensure high quality learning experiences and education for students in the Master of Physician Assistant (MPAS) program.

The Program Director will engage in teaching, service, and scholarship activities, and work collaboratively with colleagues across the University as well as with the Vice President for Academic Affairs/Provost.

Additionally, the incumbent provides mentorship to students and contributes to the visibility, impact and reputation of the University and its programs through research and scholarly engagement.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching clinical medicine, physical exam and problem-based-learning coursework.

Rank will be commensurate with education and experience.

* Oversee program development, organization, administration and planning * Oversee and direct curriculum planning, implementation and evaluation * Develop, organize and perform ongoing evaluations of the Program, including but not limited to, course development and evaluation, faculty and staff hiring, and development and evaluation of faculty * Oversee continuous programmatic review and analysis including directing the development, and coordination of a robust and ongoing program self-study process which collects and analyzes data * Contribute to periodic reviews and revisions of departmental course offerings * Oversee the recruitment, selection and development of qualified faculty and staff to meet the program's educational goals * Recruit adjunct didactic and clinical faculty to promote and develop the program's educational goals * Supervise all program faculty and staff including the Medical Director * Oversee and direct student advisement and remediation processes * Advise and assist students through office hours or scheduled appointments, by phone or email, and through other university-approved mechanisms * Lead bi-monthly department meetings * Respond to and problem-solve student, faculty, and staff issues in coordination with the Associate Provost, Human Resources, Student Services and Academic Support Departments as appropriate * Oversee student progress and outcomes during didactic and clinical years and on board examination(s) * Ensure compliance with the ARC-PA standards and portal maintenance such as required documents and reports.

Provide program updates to the Office of the Provost on a periodic basis and as requested by institutional officials * Adhere to ARC-PA standards and policies * Oversee the program budget including the development, monitoring, and spending of an annual budget approved by the administration.

Responsible for the fiscal management of the program.

* Deliver didactic, laboratory and/or experiential instruction via multiple formats if needed (in-person, online, or in a 'blended' format) in the MPAS Boston Program * Participate in service activities; School and University committees; serve on regional, state, or national organization committees and volunteer activities; represent the program and University in/at community functions; attend School and institutional activities such as Commencement and ceremonies; and support student activities such as health fairs and service projects * Participate in scholarship resulting in conference presentations, peer-reviewed publications, or other outcomes consistent with expectations for scholarly activities described in the Faculty Manual * Maintain advanced knowledge in discipline and areas of expertise * Build and maintain relationships with professional organizations involved with the healthcare sector * Attend, participate, and officially represent the University at the PAEA, AAPA, and regional and state professional meetings * Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor Required: * Must be a Physician Assistant, and hold a current or emeritus NCCPA certification * Must hold a current, or be eligible for, MA Physician Assistant state license * Candidate is required to maintain NCCPA certification and MA Physician Assistant state licensure throughout employment * A minimum of a master's degree * Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience at the college/university level, two of which must be in Physician Assistant education * Must have held a leadership role in an academic setting * Evidence of teaching excellence * Demonstrated experience with ARC-PA accreditation standards and processes * Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals) * Record of scholarly activities commensurate with an academic appointment Desired: * Doctoral degree in Physician Assistant Studies, Education, Health Science or related field Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: * Knowledgeable about current Physician Assistant practice standards and the Physician Assistant role on the healthcare team * Experience in the preparation of a Physician Assistant program's self-study report and accreditation application * Strong skills in leadership, organization, management, and budget development * Ability to effectively work in a team environment * Proactive problem solving * Strong computer literacy * Commitment to undergraduate, graduate and/or professional education and student success * Demonstrated organizational and communication skills * Work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals) * Demonstrated commitment to valuing community engagement and interprofessional practice and learning Physical Requirements: * Standing, sitting, manual dexterity, ability to move between offices and floors of buildings * Ability to be physically in attendance at designated worksite during scheduled work hours and to work some evenings and weekends Apply Please attach a cover letter and a curriculum vitae/resume.
