SUMMARY

Provides services to management and customers in all HR-related areas and assist Payroll with bi-weekly process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Manages human resources programs at facility in cooperation with management; tailors programs planned to meet the need of the Organization. Works with management to meet planned business goals and objectives.

Provides advice to managers/supervisors in proper people management and to avoid employee complaints. Counsel managers/supervisors in the correct handling of employee performance and disciplinary issues. Investigates and assists with resolution of complaints.

Manages recruiting activities, such as internal and external ads placement, maintains internal applicant process and routes qualified applications to hiring manager. Provides clear, effective, timely and constructive feedback to managers on interviewing techniques and effective labor relations.

Manages new employee process by working with managers on confirmation of required background checks; plans, coordinates and/or conducts new employee orientation outlining company's policies & procedures, benefits and ensuring that all required documents are signed and on file.

Sets up employee records and assures that all HR required information is entered into the payroll system.

Collaborates with managers/supervisors to develop and/or modify policies and processes to improve the effectiveness of HR operations.

Processes employee-related change in UKG Core system, such as all salary changes due to salary increases, promotions, bonuses, or pay adjustments.

Assists with investigation of sexual harassment allegations, discrimination charges, disputes and other sensitive issues and refers to Director, Human Resources and/or legal.

Works with managers with recruiting, pre- and post-employment processes, onboarding, planning, communicating, and tracking of company-wide initiatives through the year.

Applies fundamental business and human resource concepts to establish and maintain effective work relationship within the company, with managers, the community and maintains professional competency, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities. Handles information in a confidential manner.

Keeps record of insurance coverage, pension plan, and personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations.

Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.

Contracts with outside suppliers to provide employee services, such as background test and drug screening services.

Plans, administration and communicates benefit programs designed to assist employees against loss of income due to illness, injury, or retirement.

Prepares and distributes written and verbal information to employees of benefits programs, such as insurance plans, retirement plan, paid time off, and special employer sponsored activities.

Prepares and submits bi-weekly/monthly benefits reports and invoices to Accounting and Third-Party Administrators.

Directs performance of clerical functions such as updating records, processing insurance forms, creating new job description, completion of verification from outside agencies.

Handles employee relations communications and follow-ups.

Workers’ Compensation Claims Management – Ensures that all reported claims are reported to Insurance Carrier within 24 hours of receipt. Create file and update with status. Create log for year-end OSHA Reporting.

Shall perform work in a safe manner and actively encourage others to comply with safety rules and regulations.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Human Resources, business, or related area. Minimum of three years of professional experience in HR with substantial responsibility for employee relations, hiring and general HR administration.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as policy & procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, newsletters, and other correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge of UKG (formerly Ultimate Software) HMS, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

SHRM or HRCI Certification highly preferred.
