ENGEL Machinery North America has a job opportunity for a remote, travelling Process Engineer to help consult with customers. JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Plastics Processing Engineer/Technician to join us. This is a U.S. based remote position with regular travel. While the role is open to candidates across the United States, there is a preference for those based on the East-Coast. They will be reporting to the Director Advanced Molding Systems & Processing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set-up Injection molding machines for mold trials/tests/run-offs

• Establish robust, repeatable process parameters/processes

• Use strong problem solving skills to troubleshoot molds, machines, auxiliary equipment, and processes.

• Trouble shoot process-related issues in the lab as well as at customer sites

• Participate in activities pertaining to cycle time and process improvements at the customer site • Provide start up support at customer site to ensure timely start of production

• Design and execute DOE to establish new processes and for R&D work

• Review processing methods

• Implement statistical process analysis on new and existing products

• Develop and maintain process documentation

• Assist in the development of training and provide process training at the customer

• Provide equipment maintenance and repair support as required

• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and organized fashion that follows all required safety policies and regulations

• Other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

• Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in community college or technical school training

• Possession of an RJG Master Molder Certificate or AIM certification a definite plus

• Bachelor’s Degree required

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years of hands on injection molding experience.

• This position requires an individual with a thorough understanding of mold setup, molding machine operation as well as mold design/function

• Hands-on experience with mold debug, developing a robust process and process trouble shooting is a must.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of polymer materials and operating parameters is necessary

• Willingness to work and follow instructions, with a cooperative attitude toward internal and external customers

• Demonstrated ability to work alone and in a team environment with changing assignments

• Familiarity with MS Windows and Office environment, SAP experience preferred

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Travel:

• This position also requires travel up to 70% travel as these duties also need to be performed at our customer locations

• A valid passport and the ability to travel internationally is also required.
