Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a Tool Crib Attendant, familiar with pre-setting tools, for various CNC Machines.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally.

Works well with other team members.

Ability to efficiently organize and manage tools, equipment, and supplies within a budget.

Basic understanding of various tools and equipment used in the manufacturing plant.

Work collaboratively with production teams to support their tool and equipment needs. Measure yourself on being on time, so production isn’t impact by waiting for tools.

Proactively seeks solutions to improve tool crib operations and inventory management, daily.

Set up tooling for CNC Machinists using job-tooling sheets, best practices and always looking for new ideas. We use the Zoeller handheld technology, which you can help roll out as we get it implemented on more CNC Machines.

Pull set-up sheets from server for jobs.

Distribute tooling to assigned machines, working closely with CNC Machine Operators.

Prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion and minimal disruption to production.

Maintain adequate records for withdrawals of tools

Manage the inventory of existing tooling to ensure minimum inventory levels.

Inspect all tools for sharpness before being returned to the proper location.

Work with our Tool Suppliers as we want to create a Re-Sharping Program

Separate dull tooling to be sent out for re-grinding.

Order tools and tooling and ensure the best price, quality, and delivery.

Pays meticulous attention to detail when recording inventory, issuing tools, and performing inspections.

Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications:

Must have intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Must be familiar with navigating the internet.

Must be able to work 10-hour shifts and overtime as required.

High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training or certification in a related field is a plus.

Must speak, read and write in English effectively.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Minimum of three years’ experience in a tool crib is a plus.

Must be able to identify various metal machine cutting tools, composition, and coatings.

Must have the ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.

Ability to follow oral and written directions.

Familiarity with standard machine tool feed, speed, cutting depth, and expected tool lifespan is an advantage.

Essential Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.

Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Able to lift and or move up to 50 pounds.

Exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
