Remote Data Scientist

Qualifications

Applicants for this role will have:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field

5-10+ years of experience in a data-oriented environment (analysis, engineering, science, strategy)

Extensive experience with machine learning in a production environment, particularly using Databricks

Proven experience in the B2B payments industry or in similar areas pertaining to payments and account fraud detection

Strong technical skills in data engineering and machine learning, including a high degree of proficiency in SQL and Python

Experience working with external data vendors such as LexisNexis, Experian, Equifax, etc.

Ability to work independently and manage projects with minimal supervision

Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information to non-technical stakeholders

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Familiarity with a wide range of machine learning techniques, both supervised and unsupervised, and experience with frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch

Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Power BI) to effectively communicate findings

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams

Business acumen - understand business objectives, identify problems that data can help solve and drive the solution from start to finish

Developed communication and presentation skills; ability to effectively translate technical concepts to stakeholders with a wide range of technical capabilities

Collaborative attitude; open to giving and receiving constructive feedback, mentoring/assisting team members and contributing to a positive work environmentCompany Description
